WW2 First Class Iron Cross Field Conversion.

Neat field converted 2nd class iron cross made into a screw back made into a first class screw back example. The cross has had a srew post added to the back with a washer and brass retaining nut. At one point the cross has had two small holes punched thru the front then soldered closed . There seems to be two reasons for this, it was either sewn to a tunic or the hole were used to attatch two small posts to stop the cross from turning when being worn. Its an interesting item and worthy IMO of adding to a collection.
