WW2 American M1 Combat Helmet, USMC Cover.
This is a front seam fixed bail example with a second pattern USMC camo cover. The cover is in very good condition with bright colour, some staining from storage and two repairs to the area were it fits around the chinstrap bales. The helmet cork finish is nearly 100% complete, and the chinstrap is in very nice undamaged condition, the front heat stamp 335B. The liner is made by the firm Firestone, its complete with no damage, numerous markings to the webbing at the back, the leather chinstrap again in very good condition, the outside colour is nearly 100% complete. There is a name written on what looks like medical tape to the front, Pearman, J.L.
This is again from my collection but having sold my Japanese combat lids my Yank ones are feeling lonely! Ive never taken the cover off the helmet in all the years ive had it but as seen from the picture provided its has a great cork finish, you will not be disapointed. Its a super display piece.
