1914/15 Star to McClafferty, DCM, KIA Somme Action

Recent walk in to my shop is this single star to Edward McClafferty of the Northumberland Fusiliers who during an action on the Somme was awarded the DCM. Edwards killed a German officer and then wiped out the MG squad with the dead officers own pistol, quite an heroic effort. Edwards was killed in action on 22/09/1916.
The medal is in very good condition with clear details to the back. Im afraid there is no info on how this one medal happened to end up in the Cardiff area. A friend printed off some info found on the internet , this will be supplied with the medal.
