Victorian Bowie Knife, Horse Head Pommel.
Made by the firm Edward Barne and Sons of Sheffield , stamped details to the top of the blade under the cross guard, the knife measures from tip to horses head just under 15 inches, the blade is 8.5 inches. The blade has been cleaned and has suffered from some slight surface pitting, tip is sharp and blade has not been repointed. The horse head pommel and crossguard are in very nice condition, no damage.The antler handle again in very nice, undamaged. The original scabbard has lost it covering which might have been leather or paper but the original card body remains with its original metal mounts. Its a well balanced fighting knife when in hand.
