German M42 Steel Combat Helmet. EF.
EF produced M42 lid thats in very nice condition, its a size 62 and has over 95% of its original factory paint to te outside and inside of the shell, some minor abrasions as expected from combat usage. The shel is lot numbered to the rear 1387, not sur if this puts it into the decal area, under a loop im sure i can see just the smallest amount of decal, this one has not been scrapped due to late war regulations , M42 EF's are well know for poor decal adhesion, if so then the decal on tis example must have just fallen off. Inside has its original liner thats never been removed, condition matches the overall appearence with the shell, it has two intials to one tounge, RF. The chinstrap is a late war pig skin example thats had a repair to the centre, steel buckle has a good amount of its original grey paint. The shell has one bullet strike to the bottom right hand skirt, there appears to be some small droplets of blood to the liner. This is a very nice late war example of a German combat helmet.
