Japanese Pattern 44 Sword. Rinji Seishicki.

This example comes to me through a friend who wishes to sell. Im not really a Jap sword guy so please be kind with my description and terminology.
The blade has in my opinion minimal staining, mainly found from the tip traveling up around 4 inches. Cutting edge has 4 minor nicks i can feel with my finger and one tiny rust spot to both side of the blade, please check the photos for details. The tang has clear inscriptions to both sides. The long kangi side states...SHOWA, 19TH YEAR (1944) , DECEMBER. The other side is the Gunto smiths ''art name, KANESHIGE, who's real name was Sakai Katsutoshi. Also found three other stamps that relate to the Nagoya Army Arsenal. The Tsuba has a good amount of its period finish. The handle has its period braid, its stained and well used, no fraying and both Menuki are present. The steel scabbard is dent free with close to 95% of its period factory finish, other fittings have a good amount of dark finish. Top scabbard mount is missing one screw and has the inner space to take a catch. Both period pegs or screws are missing! Any more details need then you will have to contact me and i will try my best to help.
