The items of militaria shown below can be viewed in our on-line shop complete with full descriptions, photographs and prices.

1923 Italian Photo Album, La Fiera Di Padova Se.L'on Benito Mussolini Large leather photo album that was purchase during the large Expo in 1923 at Padova, 23 was the first time Mussolini visited the show as a dignitary. The album appears to be images taken from a film of the time, the pictures are all very sharp and detailed. I have not had time to try and research the album, hopefully the new owner will be able to. All photos are present but a couple are loose.
25 Year Faithfull Service Medal Document. In nice condition, clear details, clear embossed eagle stamp to the bottom left corner.
All Metal Clasp Knife. A Wright &Son,1952. In very nice condition, some slight sharpening to the blade, side is well stamped with the makers details and date.
British Officers Miniture Portrait. The miniture is nicely executed if not a little naive, it reminds me off certain Indian paintings, detail is fine and the likeness does look realistic. The front glass is undamaged as is the thin brass surround, the back is a bit damaged. I have not tried removing the backing as the painting in my opinion is on thin stock paper and not ivory, trying to remove the back might just damage the portrait which might over time have adhered to the glass. The box is made by the firm Mellship and Harris, its damaged , it looks as if two smaller brooch size minitures were on either side of the larger portrait but m afraid they have gone. The sale is for a nice hand painted miniture of an Officer in uniform, ofcourse the tired case is included. ITEM WAS £150
Fantastic Very Early Hitler Youth Group Photo Very good early photograph of a group of HJ members, i belive it must date from 1933 or earlier, the uniform detail is just super. The youths are wearing a mixture of early diffrent coloured caps and shirts, diffrent belt buckles and even an open claw buckle with cross strap. Cap insignia appears to be the early political eagle and one at least wearing the early round HJ members badge on his cap. Breeches are being worn including one lad with putees. Most seem to be wearing ties and not the usual HJ scarf. I could go on here but im sure you will find the detal just as good as i have. Photo is in very good condition but has one bend to the top right corner. Measure 4.5 x 3.5 inches Free Postage and Packaging.
German M34 Feuerwehr Helmet. Wartime example thats in very good condition, i would say that the lid has over 90% of its original black finish, inside and out. Liner is in supple condition, named to the top crown pad, liner is size stamped 54. The chinstrap is complete and looks to be a late war pig skin type. Sadley both decals have been neatly scrapped away.
German M35 Helmet, Double Decal Over Paint. The re-issued paint to the outside shell rates at over 90% complete, some marks have gone down to the metal which have taken on dark patina, the earlier factory finish can be seen under the over paint in certain areas. Both decals were painted over, these can clearly be seen under the paint, a bit of the eagles feathers have been exposed, no attempt to uncover these have taken place. The liner pins are the early type and as usual have loss of there finish, they are all tight and never been tampered with. The inside paint job rates at nearly 100% complete. Leather liner is complete, used but not abused and has a strong dark brown colour, it has its original string. The liner band is the early two piece aluminium type, i have made no attempt to see the date or maker to the sides. The chinstrap is original to the helmet and has a faint 1939 stamping to the long end. Shell is stamped Q66 and has a lot number of 20728 to the rear. A nice combat used lid with lots of character and an example that has not been messed with! Oh, i forgot to mention it has a clear owners name on the liner.
Green River Type Skinning Knife. A well used Victorian Skinning knife of the type of pattern known as the ''Green River''. The wooden grips are without chips and has a what looks like a brass lion motif pegged to one side. The blade is solid with three Victorian crowns and Sheffield stamped to one side. This blade will need to be clean, i usually make a right ''pigs ear'' when cleaning any blade so ive left as is. FOR SALE TO OVER 18's AND UK ONLY!
High Quality Luftwaffe Officers side Cap. A very good example of a Luftwaffe officers private purchase side cap made of tricot wool, pipped in silver wire with bullion officers eagle and cockade sewn to the front. Condition is very good, some slight moth damage, 5 nips to the cap, biggest being on one side near the rear, about the size of a match head, please check the pics. The bullion eagle has survived in complete condition , the roundel has minor wear to the bullion. Inside liner is complete but stained from use. Recent purchase from the family of a South Wales service man who served in Germany during the late 1940's occupation army, never been in a collection before.
Hindenberg Cross Document, Medal and Ribbon Bar. All in nice condition, document at some point has been laminated, medal and ribbon bar are in nice condition, nice early Heer photo with soldier wearing the ''Hindi'' ribbon bar, this came with the lot but i do not belive its the same fella!
Iron Cross, 2nd Class, MM/100. Wachtler and Lange. Super clean example with all its matt factory finish to the iton core, two piecs frame has its burnished sides and nice frosting to the beading, ring also frosted and a clear 100 stamp for the firm W&L. Nice clean length of period ribbon.
Metal Military Cap Edelweiss A nice period example.
Mothers Cross, Bronze. Ribbon in Paper Wrap. In very nice unissued condition.
Named Heer ''Walking Out'' Belt and Buckle, OLC. A very nice set that has the owners name label glue to the inside. The aluminium buckle is maker marked OLC and appears to have had little use, have a look at the pics, i cant fault it. The walking out pattern belt is the type found made from thin leather with a layer to the top, i belive known as ''patent leather'', its in nice condition with no major cracks, even though i found it in a straight state this is pliable and will fit around a uniform, under the thin adjusting tounge can be found the owners name tag. Its size marked 86. This example has it all.
Political Y Straps . Early unmarked set of leather ''Y''straps as used by Political Organisations such as the HJ,DJ etc. Condition is used, all metal parts have suffered from surface rust, leather is strong and supple.
Very Nice HJ Rally Photo Super shot of a large HJ group at a rally , lined up with other political groups, loads of atmosphere here with the buring alter in the background. This photo appears to be taken out of a photo album. Postage and Packing will be £3.
Veterans Association 1935 Kassel Event Pin/Tinnie. In very nice condition with all its factory finish intact, rear has its period fixing pin.
Victorian Thistle Top Handle Dirk. Oxford Maker. Large thistle top dagger/dirk, going by the shape of the blade id say an early produced example. The handle has no damage, blade has not been sharpend and suffers from slight staining only, makers mark has lost its first letter but clearly an Oxford smithy. The original scabbard is complete and supple, one small cut to the side near the top. NOT FOR SALE TO UNDER 18's AND UK ONLY!
WW1 M15 French Combat Helmet. Adrian. This example has around 70% of its original finish with a certain amount of rust bleed over the rest, shell is solid. The inside has most of its finish with the inside crown all flat paint and some debris from storage. Chinstrap supple and solid as is the liner, liner cloth material under the leather again complete but near the back has come adrift from the retaining pin. Nice condition for a barn find item.
WW2 German Drinking Cup. In good used condition.
10X50 BLC Dienstglas. Carl Zeiss. Nice pair of 10x50 binoculars with original leather strap. The body has no dents and has over 95% of its period rough finish, clear markings to the ocular end for the firm Zeiss of Jena. The end focus cups have no damage. The lenses have some ''growth'' but would say the vision is relativley clear and the focus is sharp. WAS PRICED AT £135 Could you take these to the horse races and use them, then i would have to say yes.
15th Madras Battle Dress and KD Skirt. In my opinion this heavely tailored BD was worn by a woman attatched to the 15 Madras as seen by the super padded printed formation patches to the arm. The BD has been shortened and taken in, even the pockets had to have the bottoms redone. Officers pips are Indian made. Metal dished buttons to the front. No internal markings as these have been cut away during tailoring. Condition is very good with nice nap but a small number of moth nips to the material. The skirt is very clean with a nice clear label to the inside, looks Indian made. The skirt size matches the size of the BD bottom.
1890's Imperial German Veterans Schnapps Flask. This example dates from the 1890's and was given to a member of company 6, Inf Reg No 143 from Strassburg. The flask has seen better days but its complete with no damage to the glass flask itself. The leather covering has suffered from age and some details have been scratched back into the surface to keep the details, one area of the burgandy coloured cover is missing from the top near the twist lid. Inside the flask can be a painted image of an Imperial soldier and his sweetheart. Quite a bit of the red and white hanging strap has survived around the flask itself. WAS £65
1903 Pattern Leather Waist Belt. In very good as found condition as this example has recently surfaced after a garage clearance, the leather is a bit stiff but supple enought for use, no surface cracks and will need a polish only, brass buckle is fine, no markings to be found and the size is around 43 inches from end to end.
1913 Pattern Belt, Walking Out. In good complete condition but could do with a good brushing over the material only. No markings to be seen.
1915 Dated British Entrenching Tool. Both the steel head and wooden helve are dated 1915, both are in very nice condition with the metal head with nearly all its period finish and the wwoden shaft without cracks or knocks. WAS PRICED AT £100
1915 Handbook of German For Soldiers. Printed in 1915 and this copy having a pen date of 1918 to the inside. A couple of pages have pencil annotations by the previus owner. This is complete but in used condition, would appear to have been carried and well used by its owner, IMHO allways better than finding a mint example.
1922 Turnerbund Event Badge. Large struck sports event badge that has such a striking design that even with the missing rear fixing pin its still in my opinion a nice collectable badge.
1930's Nazi Swastika Metal Lantern. A piece of nazi kitsch in the form of a lantern, the main body is made from a thin tin type metal with paper swastika and red celluloid panels, the lantern falls flat for storage. Condition is very good for something thats this fragile and produced in the 30's, swatika panels are clean with no holes but two of the red celluloid panels have some small holes, nothing major and does not detract from the overall appearence, a cloth would get rid of the dust etc. Recently found in the eastern part of France on the German border.
1930's Zeiss Ikon ''Baldur'' Camera. Produced from 1932 till 36 this camera was apparently named after the Youth Leader Badur Von Shirach. Condition is very good, case is complete but missing its hanging strap. Another of those items ive found from when i collected HJ items.

1938 WHW Deutscher Shutzenverband Stick Pin. In nice condition with sharp detail, fixing pin has the fastening twist.
1939 Air Ministry Marked Leather Jerkin. In nice used condition with only one small hole to the leather, this does not go thru the inside cloth liner, the two cuts across the shoulders in my opinion are deliberate to make the jerking fold along the wearers shoulders, the cuts do no go into the interior lining. Clear AM mark and code to the inside. Size i would say is a medium. Nice to find a RAF jerkin and one with an early date.
1939 Dated ARP Jack Knife. Scarse example issued to the ARP, condition is good with the only issue being the loss of its metal loop, clear makers mark to the blade.
1939 Dated British Ambulance Helmet. In very nice condition with nearly 100% of its period black finish to the outside and inside rim, the two white letters again in solid condition. The liner is quite supple and the frame has a clear makers mark and 1939 date.

The inside has its period 1940 dated liner in used but supple condition, full length chinstrap. The inside crown has lost its finish, the second pattern liner has never been removed in my opinion.
1940 Dated British Military Braces. In very nice clean condition, would appear never to have been issued.

Condition is good with some loss to the leatherette covering, a good amount of its military green paint remains to the metal parts, fixing clip has its stores code stamps, body is broad arrow marked and a clear 1940 date. 1940 Dated HJ Sports Participation Badge. Made form plastic and in very nice condition, rear has its period fixing pin.
1940 Dated MKII Combat Helmet, Ex POW. A very fine MKII combat lid that was issued to an ex British POW. The helmet is dated 1940 and once had the early choc brown finish, this can be seen to the inside and certain areas on the outside. At one point the outside was repainted in the late war rough finish with a regimental flash to the side, this was scrapped off at some point. The inside second pattern liner is again dated 1940 and sized 7 1/2, a good large size. The liner is in very good supple condition. Chinstrap is again in good condition and is named to a member of the signal corps who was once a POW. The helmet is in untouched condition. When i purchased this helmet over the weekend i managed to see a small grouping to the same man, His paybook was a replacement dated 1945, he recived his last training in 1942 and had 3 days ex POW leave in January 1945 . His medal goup included the 39, Africa and Italy star. My humble conclusion, he was captured after 1942 perhaps in Italy and after being released managed to do some wartime service just before the end of WW2, the helmet IMHO was most probably the one issued to him after his release from the POW camp. Im sure some research can be done on finding more info on this veteran.
1940 Pattern BD Trousers. When the trousers were put away for storage, yep the garage, then they were in very nice condition!! So what are they like now? Not too bad but they do have a number of moth nips, ive taken some shots of the damage, mainly to one leg near the middle, easy enough job to repair, the crotch area has none, WOW!! There are a couple of other nips but nothing major. Nap to the material is good, no stains. Mix of brass buttons, inside brace and fly, with the rest being plastic, one missing button to the fly area. No label, WD marked to the inside. Now for size, thIs is done with my tape measure and are approximate only....across the top waist area it measures 16.5 inches so lets say around a 32/33. The outside rear length from top to bottom of the leg is 43 inches and the inside leg is 27, hope that helps! p.s. images 4 and 6 are of the same area of moth nips, not two diffrent areas!!

Lanyard is original to the BD as are the ribbons above the pocket. The condition is very good with no moth. The service dress has RASC buttons and bronze collar dogs, inside liner appears to have been tailored at some point which is not out of the ordinary seeing service in Italy. Condition again very good. With the two garments there are a number of period Italian Soldiers guides and an envelope with cut out newspaper cuttings. One broucher hasa hand written name and dated 1943. WAS PRICED AT £275

1942 Dated Royal Marines Wosley Pattern Pith Helmet. In good condition with a clear maker and 1942 date stamped to the inside sweat band. The brass chinstrap i found with the helmet was in my opinion too short so i added a couple of leather straps to the end.
1942 Kriegsweihnacht Russland Candle Sticks. Nicely designed winter war present in the form of a candlstick, hand made from wood with two brass plaques, one either side. Front plaque is dated 1942 and Russland , above this is a lightning bolt, perhaps a divisional sign and an edelweiss, perhaps a piece from a serving Gebirgsjager. The rear plaque might well be a coat of arms for a village. Item has a couple of cracks to one arm .

The body has good condition and has a very nice shape with the front having that ''pinched'' look from being taken on and off numerous times, there is a slit to the front of this pinch were a cap badge was placed, body has some staining from use but no moth nips. The triangular patch has been removed at some point from the side, would appear to have been stitched on by the corners only. I have not tried to open the side popper and the centre has been stitched closed, all grommets are tight to the body. Puggaree has five bands and is snug up and stitched front and back to the cap. A very nice combat used example.

1944 Dated Black Beret. Made by the firm Beret Industries and dated 1944, the size would appear to be a 6 and 1/8th, broad arrow marked and has an ''M'' prefix to the WD stamp. 1944 Dated British MKII Combat Lid. The outside retains nearly all its factory rough finish as does the inside, the liner is complete and has seen service life, chinstrap is in sound condition. The helmet shell has a clear makers stamp and a clear 1944 date stamp, the liner is dated 1943. 1950's Air Despatch Insignia Grouping. This grouping of ''AD'' insignia appears to have been put together as a present or souvenir to a former member, i belive at one point would have been framed. All cloth has been machine stitched to the backing material . Of interest is the larger printed formation sign to the right with the Kris dagger in central shield. This i have not been able to find anywhere , i belive it might well be a local made patch from Malaya? But hey that my guess!!

1960's U.S. M1 Paratrooper Helmet, WW2 Shell. Vietnam period liner. A nice used example with most of its original rough finish to the outside of the shell and again most of its flat finish to the inside, its a rear seam but does have a heat stamp number to the front lip area M341C dating this McCord made shell to being produced during WW2. The only marking i can find to the para liner is a white stamped number 31 to the side, the green straping around the inside has a clear date stamp of December 65 with the sweat band having a DSA date of 73, condition is used , good and complete, as is the green webbed chinstrap. With the mixed dates this would be a sound Vietnam display item. May i add that the shell has a light indetation to the crown, this is an old ''hit'' as the liner inside has a small worn patch in the paint , this is an indication of the helmet having been worn like this for some time.

This item came from the same source as the marron beret listed previously having belonged to Captain John Marshal, details of this veteran can be found in its description.

British Dispatch Riders Steel Helmet, 1944. Interesting DP helmet thats had a coat of white/tan and a red stripe along the bottom. White/tan, well sometimes i see a discoloured white than i see a light tan!! Anyway the condition is very good, used, with nearly all its painted finish intact, some knocks to the red edge. The inside leather liner is complete but used as seen by the sweat etc. The outer ear flap sections again complete but one area has a small split, clear 1944 date to the inside. Of note i did talk to a Dutch collector who a few years ago dug up some relic DP helmets in this colour scheme , perhaps used for traffic control!

The black finish is around 80% complete , this black has been painted over what was once an early Army helmet with the early pattern liner. The liner is dated 1938 and the helmet being 39 dated. I would rate the condition as very good.

British MK2 Combat Helmet. Nice to find an example that has nearly all its rough paint finish to the outside and again all its smooth factory finish to the inside. The top nut has most of its finish. The inside liner is dated 1938, the helmet 1939. Im pressuming with the early dates the top pad, now missing, would have been the early donut type. Ive taken a shot of the liner date and managed to slide the liner arm over showing the diffrence in finish under the arm, good sign of liner and helmet never being apart. Chinstrap is complete.

The chinstrap is complete.

British No9 Bayonet, Enfield. Very Clean. A lightly used example with clear markings and date, produced by the Royal Small Arms Factory in 1954.
British Officers Piped Side Cap, RAMC Lt/Col Sixsmith. A well used side cap that was part of a large group belonging to a Lt/Col Sixsmith of the RAMC awarded an OBE for gallant and distinguished service in Sicily. This lot can be seen on the net through Lockdales auctions. As mentioned cap is used but complete with no moth holes, French makers label to the inside, if his name was on the inside tag its gone now.
British Officers Side Cap. In very good condition with good nap to the material, inside has a well used liner thats split down the centre from being worn, no maker or date to be found. The cap adge that was worn has not gone thru the inside material, too me that would indicate the use of an Officers bronze badge or plastic economy.
British Officers Side Cap. In very nice condition with just a couple of small nips to the material, bronze Kings crown buttons to the front, appears to have never had a cap badge attatched, inside is also very clean.
British Officers Side Cap. Out of all the side caps listed below this example has to be the best when it comes to condition, the material is very nice and the inside is clean with the remains of a tailors label, badge is a bronze type for an RA officer. The cap comes with two Kings crown buttons that i found attatched to the front with a brass slide.
British Officers Visor Cap. In nice used condition, some light stains with no moth nips or tracking and no fraying to the material. The leather chinstrap is complete but missing one retention strap to the side. The buttons are Kings Crown. The inside gain in used condition but complete, cannot make the makers details under the celluloid cover. Id say the size is medium rather than small but cannot find a size stamp. Perfect display item with the period cap badge only needed.

British Royal Engineers Slouch Hat. A very nice slouch with nice intact body, minimal staining from age and storage, all vent grommets are intact, side press stud i have not tried to open, Newey marked to the inside. The intact puggree has a nice two RE colour banding behind, same colour as the machine stitched RE flash behind the badge. The inside condition matches the outside, nicley worn but complete, leather sweatband has a makers mark and a very faint date underneath, i can see the 194 i belive but the last number, well might be 3 then again it could be 5. Ive not cleaned or brushed this cap as its the way i like them but if wishing then it will clean up even nicer than it allready is.
British SFP Zuckerman Steel Helmet. In very nice condition with all its factory finish intact, both front and back spray painted letters are in nice clear condition. Inside liner sysytem again complete and in nice condition.
British WW2 Officers Visor Cap. Such a pity that this can only be described as an example that might well be used for ''parts'', it has a nice leather chinstrap with buttons, a nice top lining with clear maker to the King and a sound leather sweat band, all can be used to repair another example, the rest im afraid to say is shot!!! May i add that the item will be sent out in a large ''giffy'' bag to make postage as cheap as possible, if of course you wish the cap to be boxed then please contact me for futher postage charges.

The inside has a very clear makers detail stamped to the lining. Sweat band is complete. One hole to the material of the body near the front.
Cardiff City Fire Helmet. Recently found in the local area is this nice WW2 Cardiff City Fire helmet. It appears to have been an army issue going by the olive drab factory finish to the inside, The outside has recived a brushed coat of pale blue then a hand rendered white ''Fire'' to the front and back, pencil marks can still be found around the lettering. To finish this off is a Cardiff civil defence decal. No markings can be found to the helmet due to the overpaint and the liner has no makers mark, the size being written in pencil to one arm. Chinstrap is missing one end buckle.
City of London Yeomanry, Rough Riders, Horse Crop. In really nice condition, hardly any wear, horse crop with metal top having the letters RR underneath a Kings Crown. The KC would place this in the WW1 time period in my opinion. May i add that the Rough Riders ID is only a guess as it does appear to be two ''R'''s facing each other, let me know if i have it wrong please. Pete.
Cloth Puttees, Rifle Brigade? First time i've come across a pair of puttees that appear to be coloured for a Rifle Brigade. Condition is very good.
Combat Vehicle Crewman Helmet, Adapted? Sohah? From what i can see this CVC helmet has see some use with a number of coats of camo finish to the body, the internal straps appear to be an upgrade and there are no labels or marking to the inside. DAF Werkschar Visor Cap. This cap is built as a true Werkschar example as seen by the smooth middle band, normal DAF caps have a ribbed band. The condition is very good with very little wear. Nap to the material is very good and if there is a small moth nip i cannot find it. Leather chinstrap is nice and complete, visor peak without damage. The inside leather sweatband is named and complete with minimal usage. Inside blue lining again in nice bright colour, under the sweatband a nice clear RZM label can be found. I have named this a Werkschar example and it is but there has never been the usual DAF Werkschar wreath fixed to the front, no holes to be found inside or out , the 37 pattern eagle i would say is factory fitted, its fitted so tight i couldnt even get a slip of paper behind it. So could this be a DAF Walter/Wardens visor, makes sense in my opinion! Anyway Werkschar or Walter this is a nice visor and scarce compaired to a normal DAF ''Festival Cap''. ON HOLD FOR ''J''.

The inside liner is very clean and supple , sized 58 and the cloth tie appears period. The chinstrap is complete and supple. There is one tear to the leather which has not gone thru, repair would be easy or leave as is. The inside dome has a nice makers decal for the firm Mandelartz. May i add that the chinstrap will be secured during transit to prevent futher damage to the area mentioned.

Early British Invasion Town Exit Plans in Map Case. Found this map case recently whilst going thru a very old collection of British items and was suprised to find it full of plans for exiting towns over the UK in case the German army invaded. There are 24 plans on 12 sheets of card all being double sided. Condition is very good with the only damage being loose stitching to one side of the perspex.
Early British Leather Cartridge Case. Condition is good for its age with the bottom corner coming adrift from the body other than that the leather is in supple condition with all metal cartridge compartments present. I've seen one example for sale before but for the life of me i cannot find it at the moment, i cannot tell you if its Military or an early shooting pouch but its early folks. WAS PRICED AT £90

Early Cloth and Paper Election Tinnie. With the early Hitler election slogan this cloth example has been resewn to the fixing pin, paper swastika has one lift to a corner. Quite a scarse badge.
Early DRK Leather Peaked Visor Cap. A very early example of a DRK members visor cap with an interesting leather peak, type found on the 'crusher' caps from the era. The condition is good/used with good nap to the top material, one small lose of material to the white waffenfarbe on the back. The central cloth has good colour but has some lose of material behind the leather chistrap, only noticable at certain angles. The cap cockade and roundal appear original to the cap, top DRK insignia has gone, i pressume this would have been the early type. Inside orange lining is complet and still has good colour, leather sweatband has seen better days, peak is sewn tot he cap and is strong but there is a small remnant of glue seen under some of the material. So we have an early example thats in collectable condition IMHO and a variant leather peak to add to the mix.
Early Flying Helmet and Goggles. Leather flying helmet is in good condition, its had quite a bit of use from the looks of it, there are a few scuff marks all around the body but none have gone thru, made a hole. Top button is still tightly held in place. The inside fur, appears to be bear or beever is again in used condition but complete to the visor and skirt, crown fabric area has some damage from use. The original neck clouser has gone with a shoe lace being added at some point. I would say its a medium in size but not 100% sure, no size markings. The goggles are an early French made pair called '' L'EXPRESS '' and again are in used but good condition, the lenses are whole but no chance of seeing thru them, the fur around the edges is complete but one area has come adrift, bit of glue should sort thst out. The elastic band has lost its ''give'' but is complete with a knot just to tightent it around the flying helmet. Anyway, this is the way it came into me so would like to sell as a set, nice good all round display piece.

First Pattern 'C' Type Flying Helmet. Im selling this one as spares or repairs, im hoping you will want to repair it as its a nice first pattern example with Bennet buckles. The helmet front has an open seam and a split down the front , IMO it would appear someone tried to fit it on there head, im thinking that with a little skill this can be repaired. Anyway all snap buckles are present and the Bennet strap is complete and supple, side of the helmet is clearly stamped with AM markings. The outside cups are present but one is damaged, the inside chamois leather and ear cups are very clean without damage. As for size id say either a one or two.

The composite grip has no damage, brass squared off fittings have no dinks or scrapes, small ''D'' type fitting above the cross guard has not been pushed in, i belive this was used to secure the portee and the top square tang nut appears not to have been tampared with. The nickle finished blade has no chips and has only a couple of minor marks with a slight covering of grease. The top spring to the blade to secure the dagger into the scabbard is in working condition. The scabbard is covered in a dark blue/black leather and is in very nice complete condition. German Army M40 Combat Helmet. A well used example thats had at least two diffrent coats of field paint during the war, its also had two decals applied, first decal has a good gold tone but even though its an ET made helmet the rear Lot number cannot be made out so im not certain if its a KM! The inside leather liner is complete and in supple condition with its original string tie. The steel liner band is tight to the shell, the pins have not been messed with.I have not tried to read the date or maker on the band.
German BGS M42 Helmet Shell. Now here is quite a scarce postwar helmet being a reused wartime M42 helmet shell repurposed for the BGS. Early postwar M42 shells had the liner pin holes welded over, chinstrap bales added to the sides and a new top nut for liner suspension. This example has nearly all its period early rough BGS finish to the outside and its slate grey finish to the inside. The markings have been scratched at the rear of the shell, appears to be CLK but not 100% clear. Its a large shell. This would be a great opportunity to finish off a scarce BGS helmet with the addition of a liner.

German Heer M35 Double Decal Helmet, Battle Damaged. Battle damaged M35 with two very nice decals. The early apple green has been over coated by a thin layer drab green, brush marks can be seen all over the outside and then another two decals placed on top, this is a know configuration., the inside skirt has also had this overpaint. The original apple green can be seen to the inside crown. The Heers decal rates at 95% complete with good age crazing all over, the laquer has run perhaps from the heat produced during the damage. The national shield rates at around 90% with age crazing. The helmet shell has had one hell of a strike which has managed to squeeze the lid from both sides, numerous scars can be seen on the helmet shell. The shell is maker marked SE64 and has a lot numbe to the rear, 3437. The liner frame is the early single banded aluminium type, leather is complete and in good condition but darkened by use and has the remains of blood soaking to the rear side . The liner has a regiment stamp to the inside. The remains of the chinstrap can be found to both ''D'' shape bales. This double decal helmet is a very nice example and one that shows what these soldiers could experience during combat. One from my personal collection as ive just added 2 other example and cannot afford everyone that comes my way.
German Leather Jack Boots. In very nice supple condition, couple of hob nails missing to the bottoms, stacked heels are solid, 43 stamp to one with other numbers running along to the fron of the heel that i cannot make out. German M35 Combat Helmet. This wartime helmet started out as a Double Decal army example, at some point, 1940 regs, a coat of ''reissue'' paint was added over the top, then a winter white, and lastly a final coat of paint that had some sand mixed into it. The finish to the outside of the shell is over 97% complete. The inside of the shell retains its first apple green finish, it has a clear 1937 dome stamp to the crown. The liner is complete with no damage and has its original tie string, the liner frame is the first pattern single band aluminium with square chinstrap bales, i have not tried to find the date and maker to the outside of the frame. The skirt is maker marked NS68, big size, and has an early lot number E114 to the rear. The helmet has two names to the skirt. Chinstrap is original to the helmet and has been period shortened. The decal side has a number of scratches, but nothing to detract from the overall appearance of the helmet.
German M35 Helmet, Double Decal Over Paint. EXTRA PHOTOGRAPHS.........
German M40 Helmet Shell. Would appear to have been dug from sandy conditions as the shell is very sound with no weak areas to the metal, there is slight pitting to the surface only. Cannot see and size or makers stamps. I would say a 64 size shell as a guess.
German M40 Single Decal Luftwaffe Combat Helmet. The shell retains virtually all its original rough factory finish, lets say 98% to be conservative, some scrapes and scratches from use. The decal is around 97% complete, one good knock to the right wing. The liner pins are tight and are original to the helmet. The shell is marked for the Quist firm and sized 62, lot number to the rear reads T5151. The liner is in supple condition but im afraid it has recived some rodent damage to four of the tounges, original leather chinstrap is present but the long strap is missing half its length, buckle end is complete. German Schuberth 826 Desert Combat Helmet. Its been lightly used, condition is very good with the cover having one small hole, inside liner and strap are complete. Heer M42 Single Decal Combat Helmet. EF. Another lid from my collection is this EF produced steel helmet with nearly all its original factory finish remaining, just a couple of scrapes here and there. The liner pins are tight with only a slight slip as expected from used combat helmets. The one knock its had is to the left side edge near the front, gives it a nice combat feel. The decal is complete but as found on EF decals the top layer has come away , mainly on the black background, detail is still strong. The liner complete and in used condition, the edges have taken on a dark colour from sweat, a sure sign of combat use. The liner has lost the top layer of finish to areas as sometimes seen on late war leather items, mainly to the edge as has the 1943 dated chinstrap, again a good sign of this helmet never being apart. I have never attempted to clean or treat the leather as there is no need to, it will out last all of us if kept in the right conditions. Size is a 62.
Heer M43 Field Cap, M42 Conversion. This is an example of a M42 side cap that was converted by a field tailor into the much loved M43 field cap. The nap of the material is still good, rough to the touch and as seen the material to the bill is diffrent from the rest. The insignia has been removed postwar . Both bakelite focus caps are undamaged. Now for the issues, they do focus and are sharp with minimal clouding to both sides but when focusing the actual ''oculars''' twist, they do not turn 360 degree as if the threads have gone but undo when focusing, easy repair. The blade has its full parkarised finish intact, only markings found are to the top of the blade, bayonet designation cannot be seen due to the heavy coat of black. This heavy finish has also fixed solid the top button, i presume a slight knock will free it. Buff frog is an early example thats in very good condition.
Ladies Art Deco Designed Tank Compact. Just the sort of item produced during the early period of the 20th century in a very Art Deco form. The front has some loss of paint and slight blister to the front tank central boss. The back has loss of paint also. Inside has lost its mirror and dust cloth, spring works as does the catch. This was recently found in Austria and the design would suggest manufacture in that area.

Large Propaganda Poster, Parole der Woche. Or in English ''Slogan of the Week'', this large poster printed in 1941 is one of the better images found on these posters having a nice shot of a helmeted German trooper on the front. The poster is printed on thin paper stock and has survived in pretty good condition considering. Yep there are a couple of tears along the bottom and some small holes to were the poster was folded but when framed these will hardly be noticed. The back at some point has been used to calculate something that neede resolved, sorry but no idea what, and this has come thru in one corner only. Nice poster! Nice Image! Late War Quist M42 Helmet Shell. Scarce example of a Quist made M42 combat helmet thats in solid condition, this is not a relic thats been filled and then sprayed! The outside finish has been done with a professional hand, it has one knock to the top were the metal can be seen, there is another finish underneath but i cannot make out if this is wartime period. The inside has a couple of diffrent colours. At some point someone has scratched the back of the skirt to reveal the ''Q64'' stamp, underneath the Lot number can be seen. Apparently all Quist 42's are marked Q64.
Late WW2 British Army Shirt. In very nice condition, no moth holes, one mark across the front from storage only, all buttons present. No label but does have a black stamp to the inside bottom of the shirt. Size i would say medium.

The leather back straps are complete but i should mention i have not tried to open the poppers. The top adjustment strap is held on by the back steel buckle which has lost one end, all steel fittings are rusty .The fastening buckles are complete and both side fastening straps have no issues. Both leather ear pads are in supple condition. The inside rayon lining is complete with a couple of small tears, clear makers label. The helmet has had its avionics removed with the back of the helmet being sewn closed were they were attatched to the body. Displays very well.
Luftschutz Gladiator Helmet EXTRA PHOTOGRAPHS.......
Luftschutze Gladiator Helmet. Vet Bring Back? This was brought in this morning by a gent who recently found it in the roof space of the house he just bought here in Cardiff. Its survived quite well with a nearly all its factory finish but has slight rust bleed coming thru. The decal is , well lets say 40% complete. The inside liner is complete and without damage as is the chinstrap, clear details to the rear of the shell. No i havent cleaned it as im a fan in selling items in the same condition as i find them.
Luftwaffe ''LKpS101'' Summer Flight Helmet. In what would be super condition with clean cloth outer body,no snags or moth damage and all leather straps strong and supple , both poppers working. The inside silk type lining is again very clean with undamaged fur ear pads and both internap plastic receivers present. A clear label stitched to the inside , stamp dated 1938, and a clear makers label with size. So let me now explain the damage! At some point the back electronics have been ripped out leaving the damage seen to the cloth, is this repairable? I belive so and the addition of another loom would hide the damage. If not then its still a displayable item from all sides except the back and of course price accordingly. I pressume the veteran who brought this back ripped out the loom to get rid of all that unsightly wiring and make more room in his kitbag. May i also add that at some point a luftwaffe trap insignia was hand stitched to the front of the helmet, when i asked the relative who brought this about the badge he had no idea when it was added. Ive removed it and no fade can be seen in the material but some small stitch holes seen with a good look.
Luftwaffe Breast Eagle, Uniform Removed. A good condition example that has been uniform removed.
Luftwaffe Flak.Regt.22 / 5-Battr Brown Leather Map Case. In nice used condition with supple body, all compartments present, 2 minor repairs to the side stitching which is hard to see. The inside has very clear regimental markings and name and number of an officer. Good Luftwaffe example.
Luftwaffe Flight EM/NCO Visor Cap. BACK UP FOR SALE!!!! Id say this example is in good condition with good shape to the body, material has some moth nips with most damage to the top of the cap, the peak is solid and the chinstrap complete and supple. Aluminium cockade is complet and tight but the eagle has been denazified by having the ''swaz'' removed. Inside is in nice condition with some staining only, clear makers label to the crown. Cap was a recent ''walk in'' by an elderly gent who's had it in his possession for 20 years having found it in the house he purchased that was full of militaria this one having escaped the auction house! THIS CAP HAS BEEN RELISTED AS THERE WAS A NON PAYMENT ON THE DEAL I HAD MADE WITH A LOCAL COLLECTOR. I HAVE ALSO REDUCED THE PRICE DUE TO THE TIME ITS BEEN ''RESERVED'' ON THE SITE.
Luftwaffe Flight EM/NCO Visor Cap. Unit Marked and Named. KG355. Cap is in good as found condition, this came to me with a couple of others that were brought back by a local veteran, it would appear he didnt take good care with storage as the cap had been folded for some time. The material has maybe one or two moth nips only, the front stiffener was removed giving it a nice look, eagle has gone and there was a cloth breast eagle once applied to the area. The cockade has one broken pin to the rear from the cap being folded! Chinstrap is complete and supple. The inside is in good order but the peak is loose at the corners again from having been folded over the years, sweatband is complete as is the lining, clear makers details to the top, inside the lining is the unit stamp a 1938 date and the added bonus of the owners name tag. The unit stamp relates KG 355 that later became KG55 Legion Condor. Ive had this cap for a couple of months sat on a glass head and the visor is getting its shape back, with a bit of TLC i belive this would be an easy restoration.
Luftwaffe Flying Helmet Throat Mike, One Section. One section of a throat mke as attatched to German wartime flying helmets, internal wire still present, mike has a clear FL number.
Luftwaffe LKpN101 Summer Flight Helmet. Netzkopfhaube. In nice used condition with good leather, good netting and throat mikes intact, inside has nice sheepskin to the ears and inner bakelite cups, clear cloth label. The rear loom has had the ''break coupling'' removed, all buttons present and fastening poppers in working order.
Luftwaffe LKpW101 Winter Flight Helmet. Very nice five panel leather flight helmet with all its avionics, throat mics, leads and jack. No split seams, no scuffs just minor scratching to the surface and supple leather body. All buckles are present and in working order. The inside fur is again in very nice condition with a clear label and both plastic recivers to the earcups. I cannot find a fault on this very nice example.
Luftwaffe Oatmeal Fatigue Jacket. Unissued . In unissued condition and as expected in super condition with textbook details, all brown buttons present, clear makers and size details stamped to the inside, no damage. The photos might well give the impresion of staining but this is due to the poor winter light and the way the material is slightly crumpled from storage only. WAS PRICED AT £185 ON HOLD FOR PAUL!
Luftwaffe Pith Helmet. Second pattern Luftwaffe pith helmet in nice used condition. The metal eagle has good detail, the tri colour shield is missing. The leather rim has just a couple of small tears only. The inside has a good used lining with the leather sewat band having seen lots of use, good amount of salt marks from sweat on the inside green material. Under the sweatband has some markings but these have faded. Chinstrap missing.
Luftwaffe Single Decal M40 Combat Helmet, EF64. Helmet retains over 90% of its original rough finish, some rust coming thru and some white paint spatter. The decal rates at over 80% complete with a few minor knocks. The liner pins are original to this lid and have never been removed. The shell is stamped for the firm EF and is a size 64. The inside liner has seen better days , its complete but has come away from the liner band in a couple of areas. The chinstrap does not look like a German produced one, its the one that was on there when i purchased this for my collection a number of years ago , i felt no reason the remove it. What i liked was the distinctive curve to the front lid as found on EF helmets and the darker patina around this area from the soldier taking it on and off his head, even with the damage to the liner this helmet displays very well and is an example that saw lots of combat.
Luftwaffe Single Decal M42 Combat Helmet. KIA. Another lid that has to find a new home, purchased a few years ago from an American member of a well known Militaria forum. The helmet was purchased from the veteran who whilst serving during WW2 took this helmet to remind him of a sad episode were he and his unit were clearing out a village at the end of some action when a young lad in Luftwaffe uniform suddenly appeared in front of him brandishing a shot gun, the lad was instantly shot dead, the veteran wasnt sure if he was surrendering or had other intentions, he kept the helmet . Now for the helmet itself, it has the majority its original rough paint finish remaining, some scrapes here and there, the pins are original to the helmet, they have some paint loss, the inside again has most of its finish intact. The shell is stamped ET62 and has a lot number 362. The decal rates at over 80% complete with some loss to the wings and one scrape across the body. The liner has been torn out with the remaining piece at the back having some blood stains, the marks to the steel inside would also suggest blood staining. The long end of the chinstrap remains in supple condition, its not marked. If your a lid collector im sure you will understand how certain helmets ''talk'', this one just reminded me why i really like to collect combat lids, it will still fit in nicely on my shelf.
M35 Factory Reissue Single Decal Combat Helmet. A very nice M35 helmet with well over 95% of its factory rough ''over paint'' to the outside and 100% rough finsh to the inside. The deal rates at 38%, the damage in my opinion is down to the decal having been placed on top of this rough coat and not being laqured. The liner is in very nice supple condition still having its original tie and the zinc liner band is as expected for a factory reissue. The supple chinstrap is maker marked and has partial date, by all appearance its original to this helmet. A faint Q mark can be seen but no size and no lot number seen under the paint, id say its a size 64. Dave Shirlin has an exact type of lid on his great helmet site at the moment.
M35 French Water Bottle. Barn found example with its dark blue cloth cover and leather carry strap. Cover has damage and staining, still has it cloth tag to the bottom, canteen has its cork stopper and the leather strap is supple and in complete condition.
M35 Luftwaffe Camouflage Helmet. This is an SE66 produced shell which has had a base coat of tan applied firstly over the original factory finish, then at some point a two colour brush stroke was applied over the top, green and brown. The camo coating remains 80% intact with most of the damage to the crown. I cannot find an trace of decals under the paint. The liner shows moderate wear, its intact and sound, liner pins are tight with washers, liner string is period and i belive original to the helmet. Displays well and if your a brush stroke fan then the way the two colours have been applied should tick your boxes. Lot number appears to be 874 maybe 074.
M35 Luftwaffe Camouflage Helmet. EXTRA PHOTOGRAPHS....................
M35 No-Decal Combat Helmet. Typical Quist factory finished no decal M35 helmet with over 95% of its original matte finish intact. The liner show moderate wear and the 1942 dated chinstrap is in very nice supple condition, it appears to be original to the helmet. The lid is stamped Q64 and has a lot number 2905 at the rear. A neat example. As a side note i purchased this lid around 10 years back in a small shop in the city of Graz, Austria.
M38 Luftschutz Helmet. Three piece constructed Gladiator helmet with around 95% of its original factory finish, the decal again id say 95% intact. The inside liner is in used condition with one tounge end missing , the chinstrap is complete but has a break, liner and strap are supple. The rear has a number stamp and the former owner has scratched his name inside.
M40 Two Tone Sand Camouflage Helmet. This is an ET66, Lot Number i would say is 4959, making this a Heer example that has been covered with a two tone green sand finish. I cannot make out a decal as the finish is strong in this area. I would say there is over 80% of the sand finish remaining.Slight rust bleed to one small area on the crow. The leather liner is in supple condition , no tie string. The liner pins have not been tampered with but are slightly loose from combat wera, they are all 1940 dated. The chinstrap is supple, full length and maker marked with a date 1941.
M40 Two Tone Sand Camouflage Helmet. EXTRA PHOTOGRAPHS...........
M42 Single Decal Army Helmet, ET Production. Here is a great example of a WW2 German combat helmet, a single decal M42. The original paint finish remains in very nice condition with good texture and matt apperance, lets say well over 90% remaining. The decal remains at over 80% with a couple of knocks to the body, from the picture the beak looks a bit ''off'' but its had a tiny knock to the bottom, ive added one photo with some colour enhancement to try hand show the beak area, pictur 2 in the ''additional photos'' section . The liner pins are original to the shell and have not been re-bent. The liner shows moderate wear and in complete condition with no pulls, i have not checked any date to the steel band as its tight to the wall. The chinstrap has a makers stamp and IMHO original to the helmet, its supple with no weakness. The shell has a faint ET makers stamp but no size marking can be made out, id say a 68. The neck area has a again a weak hit and i can make out 3 digits only. I would say that this is a very clean example and new to the market.
M42 Wire Sea Relic Helmet. This example i purchased last year to study the way the wire was attatched to the helmet, interesting that the wire is a plastic covered type, perhaps a phone line and has been attatched the chinstrap bales. Anyway it would appear to have been found from a water sourse, river or ocean, there are numerous shells to the inside and grass growing on top of the lid. Makes a great display and the shell is sturdy enough. Hey if you want a German combat helmet with no doubt that the wire was period applied then this one fits the bill.
Merchant Navy Captains Peaked Cap. Well this one certainly has the ''look'' of an old salty sea dog, its defenetly been there with the inside lining removed giving the cap a floppy type appearance. Victorian Boer War Medical Officers Service Dress Jacket. Well its had a hard life being stored relativley badly, the moth has had a few meals im afraid but in my opinion this is still a good all round Victorian tunic worthy of being saved by a collector. Most of the damage is to the left hand side with damage running along the bottom of the pockets and top shoulder and of course the top collar. Both purple boards are good with all pips present. Top collar dogs are the silver wreath officers versions. Middle row of buttons are Victorian Queens crown examples with the four smaller buttons being Kings crown. Nice period sewn Boer War ribbon to the right side. Inside lining is in good condition, no name im afraid to say. Interestingly this type of jacket has very large breast pockets, bigger than the bottom ones. WAS PRICED AT £95
Victorian Snake Hook Leather Belt. I cannot fnd the specific pattern, perhaps 1870 is close. The belt is in good condition, plenty of finish to the metal fittings, leather has one tear were its been folded for some time, other wise its strong and supple. The size if fully extended would be around 40 inches.

The blades have not been over sharpend and still have a strong spring to them. All metal fittings have staining but no pitting, clear markings to both blades. The three tools on the backside again with heavy spring. At the back of the horn handles the ''tweezers'' can be found but im afraid the ''picker'' has gone. A good solid example of an early Turner Sportsmans pocket knife.

Vintage Royal Naval Deck Cap. Condition is very good for its age, couple of small moth nips to the top and some wear to the nap around the edge. Inside leather lining is complete and supple, clear makers mark to the inside crown. As to date i cannot say but before WW2, my guess would be WW1 or earlier.
Vintage Stiletto Dagger. This appears to be at least of Edwardian vintage and is in nice condition. The wooden grips have no damage, the crossguard is complete with some finish missing, blade has a rounded profile mainly to the top, some staining and a slight sharpening. The Welsh Reg flash as expected with the condition of the helmet is very good. Inside leather sweat band is named to the firm Linnely of London and has a faint owners name written on the other side, undeneath there is a faint stamping but cannot make it out, its still supple and in very nice order. Inside dome silver linning is in complete condition. With this helmet came a WD marked Cover that again is in very nice condition, i belive it dates from 1942/43. WW1 British French Patriotic Photo Frame. Cast photo frame depicting the areas were the First World War was fought. Condition is good but missing its back . Would suprise me that this was made iat the end of the war from melted down shell driving bands or similar.

WW1 British Photo Album, Army Reconnaissance School. 12 x 8 inch leather covered photo album that belonged to an officer in the British Army, first 6 out of 10 pages have photos relating to what i belive is an Army reconnaissance school during WW1. Group photos show that the officers are from diffrent regiments and quite a few are wearing '' cuff '' ranks to there uniforms, making this album date from before the end of 1918. Some photos show the surrounding terrain were exercises were taking place, not too sure were the school was but it would not suprise me if it were in Scotland. There are 42 military shots with family photos taking up the last 4 pages. WAS PRICED AT £90
WW1 Brodie Helmet with Black Lion Frontal Badge. This has been an anomaly to me since i purchased it, still cannot make out the use. Anyway this is what i do know, its a WW1 british brodie helmet thats been over painted in black and had a very nicely rendered black lion in a yellow and red oval surrounded in an outer of green. The inside liner is complete but in used condition, chinstrap again complete but has is fragile in one area. The black finish is 95% complete, one small dink, the inside rim has been painted black but the original factory green finish can be found under the liner, appears to have a Belgium/French name to this rim. The best i can find on the frontal badge is the black lion of Flanders in Belgium.
WW1 Durham Light Infantry Brodie Helmet Shell. Relic? Well its had a hard life and has seen some action but the outside shell has a good amount of its original rough finish intact, lets say 70%, the inside has lost its finish to the crown but most has survived around the rim. The front stencilled DLI badge is very clear with slight damage to the crown area, appears this area has had a slight wipe with a damp cloth to clear away some of the build up of verdigri on top of the stencil. This is a late war pattern brodie with added rim. This was recently found by a freind in a North German flee market on the Dutch border, souvenired by a German veteran? Who knows, still nice to find a Regimentally marked Brodie. The money shots folks are numbers 8 and 9 in the photo section.
WW1 French Renault ''FT'' Table Model/ Souvenir Inkwell. A very nice detailed pot metal model of a Renault tank rising above a German trench. The top turret swivels, the only damage i can see on the tank is a split to one of the tracks. The model is signed by the artist and has a small plaque to the side with the words ''VIMEY''. The French tankers helmet that covers the inkwell has come adrift but in my opinion will be an easy fix.
WW1 French Water Bottle and Cover. Still with its chord cover and with a nice field made leather carry strap this bottle has survived very well. To the bottom is its label with the material still covered with mud from the battle field. Bottle rattles , i belive the remains of the cork might have fallen inside.
WW1 French Water Bottle. In good condition with only one dent to the body, metal has some paint finish remaining, some minor rust bleed. This one still has its leather carry strap which is in strong supple condition.
WW1 German 98/05 Butcher Bayonet, Saw Back Removed, 1917. In overall good condition, the wooden grips are intact with a couple of old knocks and bruising , wood is tight . The metal has a certain amount of patina and has darkened from age. The blade is maker marked for the firm Hammesfahr and is dated 17 to the spine,Prussian stamp to the top of the pommel and for some reason has the number 111 stamped under the crossguard. Clear to see were the saw teeth were removed. Scabbard has a certain amount of its factory finish and one dent to the side. NOT FOR SALE TO UNDER 18'S AND UK ONLY.
WW1 German Artillery Level. Out of the same Belgium farm barn as the items below is this nice wooden artillery level, maker marked for a firm in Dresden. Only damage is a cracked glass to one section, both level bubbles in working order.

WW1 German Cased Binoculars, Named. Still contained in its period leather case the binoculars are in very nice condition, they have clear optics and sharp focus. To the front the Leutnant has scratched his name. The case is complete with strap, clouser button still works, leather is loosing its top layer only, still supple.
WW1 German POW Paperwork Including Iron Cross Certificate. Interesting little group to a former German POW which includes his Iron Cross and Hindenburg Medal Certificate, another document relating to his award of the Iron Cross and one other. The photo shows a young soldier wearing his recently awarded Iron Cross.

WW1 KuK Austrian Belt and Buckle. A very nice example with a supple leather belt, in the Austrian style, and a very nice brass buckle, Buckle has some toning from age, but the original bright gilt finish can be seen all over the buckle body, im sure you know by now that i do not clean the items i put up for sale, im a patina lover!!! Buckle is dent free with no repairs. WAS PRICED AT £200...... A very nice surviving set. Just to add, buckles turn up now and then but the Austrian produced belts do not.
WW1 M15 Adrian Helmet Badge, Infantry. In nice condition with a good amount of its period blue finish, both rear fixing prongs present.
WW1 M15 French Combat Helmet. Adrian. Untouched helmet shell with nearly all its wartime hand brushed overpaint on top of its original factory finish, one tiny ''dink'' to the steel shell, front infantry badge is period applied. The inside again with all its finish and both chinstrap bales, tiny bit of its chinstap remaining.
WW1 M15 French Combat Helmet. Adrian. Large sized shell with nearly all its wartime overpaint remaining to the outside, only a couple of minor kocks, front badge has lost it bottom prong so it swivels, its period to the helmet. Inside has all its factory finish, sorry to say the chinstrap bales have gone. Nice display item.
WW1 M15 French Combat Helmet. Adrian. Nice condition with over 85% of its original finish to the outside, one minor knock to the right side, front badge is the period example. Inside shell with nearly all its finish with the inside crown having that ''flat'' colour as expected. The liner is supple and the string tie never opened from what i can see so not going to have a look for marks to the inside. Chinstrap complete and supple. Untouched WW1 lid.
WW1 M15 French Combat Helmet. Adrian. Helmet shell is in nice barn find condition with nearly all its flat hand brushed over paint remaining to the outside, some rust poking thru and a small amount of verdigris from storage which will clean if wishing, no hits to the outside, front infantry badge is the original period applied. The inside has nearly all its finish intact, both chinstrap bales present.
WW1 M15 French Combat Helmet. Adrian. Artillery. Small sized helmet shell that has a good amount of its flat blue finish remaining, no dents or cracks. The inside has more blue finish, two corrugated metal liner frames and its period leather chinstrap.
WW1 M16 Steel Helmet. This example has been painted black at some point, i would guess for use by WW2 Rescue services. The original factory finish can be seen under the black overpaint, inside crown has not been paint black, shell is solid. One front pin has been replaced by a rivet of sorts, the other two are the original factory examples. Liner is the early type with two pads remaining, both still have the pockets underneath but pillows have gone,WW1 veterans name to one pad. Neat WW2 period liner repair to the front. Chinstrap is solid and supple enough. Maker mark can not be made out due to the black paint.
WW1 Military Ephemera, 1915 Dated Letter, South Staffs Cap Badge and Cigarette. Here is a really interesting letter sent by private Gamson whilst training with the South Staffs Regiment in Saffron Walden to a girl he's ''walking out'' with. In the letter he illustrates a fashionable cap being worn by ladies during the time and sends along a spare cap badge for his sweetheart to wear. The cap badge is in perfect condition being wrapped in tissue for over a hundred years and looks like it would have being brand new at the time and without any polish being applied. Also found was a flattened cigarette and in his letter he mentions sending her a ciggy with each letter. It would appear a Military biscuit was sent, this i didnt find. The rest of the letter also has some intersting insights of the time. Gamson served in France in 1915 before being invalided out with fever, he latter married the lady in question.
WW1 Named South Staffs Cased Binoculars and Trench Letter. As used by a Private Gamson a South Staffs signaller during the year 1915 in France, the case is named twice with his details and interestingly its recived a coat of dark green paint to the front, sides and top. The binoculars are the civilian type found used during the early years due to the shortage of optics for the British army. The Binoculars are in nice condition with clear optics but one lens is slightly out when focusing, Gamson has used a leather cord as a neck strap. The letter was sent by Gamson from France in 1915 to his sweetheart in South Wales. Ganson was invalided home in 1915 with rheumatic fever.
WW1 Period British Pith Helmet with Regimental Flash.14th Hussars. In used condition but still looking very nice is this WW1 period example with Regimental flash attatched to the eight fold cloth puggaree. The overall body has taken on a lot of patina and has lost its top cone, the cork crown has been crushed but its kept its shape. The inside liner is complete and supple but stained from use. The WD inspection stamp is clear and the owner has written some of his details to the crown in pencil. His service number is H/47515 and his initials appear to be W.R.M. A quick search brings up Sgt W.R.Mitchel who is entitled to a trio, his service number changed after units emalginated.
WW1 RAF Brass Match Box Holder. A nice example that still has its period box of matches, i dont belive its an RAF button that has been used due to the twist work around the circumfrenece of the eagle and crown.
WW1 Rifle Brigade Medal Pair and Kings Medal. Medals are in nice condition the pair being mounted for wear, all three named to C.Hartley.
WW1 Shell Fuse Ink Well. Made from diffrent parts such as the tip of a fuse, brass fuse holder and the bottom of a spent shell case, inside well is made from a spent cartridge. The fuse head is held onto the body by a very crude solder but im thinking its period as the same solder is used inside to hold the cartridge, perhaps an item made during the period for an officers desk.
WW1 South Wales Borderers Officers Peaked Cap. What can i say that the photos can't, yep its well used but still in my opinion has a certain charm, yes it was found recently on a waste tip in my local area , no i wasnt that lucky but the Antique dealer who sold it to me was. What i find really interesting are the very rare Regimental Dragon side buttons and of course its survived the ravages of time.
WW1 Trench Candle Stick. Made of brass and able to dismantle to a point. Condition is very good.Perfect display item.
WW1 U.S. M17 Helmet Shell. In solid condition with nearl all its finish intact, one ''dink'' to the steel shell, inside again with most of its paint, makers heat stamp to the rim, both chinstrap bales present, The ''funky'' chinstrap has been added by someone at some point.
WW1 Welsh Regiment Officers Trench Cap. One of the many types of trench caps worn by British officers during WW1 on the front line. Condition is very used and tired, material is good but some loss of nap to the top and a couple of moth nips, one side has come adrift. The leather chinstrap is complete but one section is broken, still attatched to the Officers bronzed GS buttons. Front bronze officers cap badge is very nice with patina. The inside has lossed its sweatband and some of the liner. As mentioned its a bit tired but still displays nicely and would be a great restoration project. This has been lanquishing in my mates loft for 15 years, he purchased it with the idea of restoring it but he never got round to it, time for a new home.
WW2 2nd Class Iron Cross. In nice condition with all its factory finish to the iron centre intact, two piece frame has darkened with patina, good length of period ribbon, no makers mark.
WW2 American Pilots Wings, Gaunt London. Nice set of wings made by the British firm Gaunt.
WW2 Artillery Officers Maroon Para Beret. This was brought into me by the veterans son, his father just having passed away in the Cowbridge area near Cardiff, there is some history which will be mentioned at the end. The beret itself is of classic WW2 manufacture, all components as seen from the pictures are from the period. The condition is very good concidering it was used in the far east. The body has a couple of tiny moth nips to the front area and the nap of the cloth is worn but no thinning to the material. The bottom leather band is in well used condition as you might expect from use in hotter climes, back cloth ''tie'' is present. Both brass grommets to the side are still tight in the fabric and are not pulled through. The front officers bullion Artillery badge is in used but complete condition. The inside lining is dirty from usage and has a couple of small frays to the edging, the leather backing to the grommet area is still attatched. Im afraid that all markings have gone thru use, pity but its no suprise with such a heavely used cap. Displays very well. The beret is priced as a nice used WW2 example without the veterans details below. I have also listed his 1945 dated beret which appears to have little use, unlike this example that he obviously used during his wartime service Now for some details on the veteran, the son told me his name and a couple of stories from his dad, including a story his father allways talked about, being an attack he had to make on an allied ship in India were the troops had mutinied. The veterans name was Captain John Marshal, part of 159 Parachute Regiment Light artillery, who was shipped to Burma late in the war, his regiment was being readied for the invasion of Japan. Shortly after the end of the war he was sent to Karachi as an officer of 15th para C troop, were they were used for security. His unit was charged in putting down a mutiny on an Indian warship called HMIS Hindastan, he was in command of this unit when it attacked the ship for 20 minutes before the Indian soldiers surrendered. A few of his command were injured and a couple of the soldiers on the ship were killed. A quick google search of the ship Hindastan and the whole story can be found including an eyewitness account from Captain Marshal, including having to observe the ship from a clock tower were he was open to fire from the mutinous soldiers, something his son said his dad was allways annoyed about. The son said he would return with more details and perhaps his dads medals if the rest of the family agreed, im afraid this has not happend to date, so as mentioned the beret is being sold on its own merit. By the way i do have his American military binoculrs he used during this raid on the ship.
WW2 Begium White Adrian Steel Helmet, PAP. This example was found in a coal shed in the Antwerp area of Belgium, the owner of the house stated her husband was part of the local defence force during the ''V'' weapon bombing on the habour. The shell has recived a coat of something to prevent more paint loss , i would say the the white finish remains around 75% with the front letters being 90% complete, the letters PAP translate to Protection Anti-Aerienne Passive. The inside still has its well used liner and chinstrap with splashes of white and lots of drips from what must have been a hasty application of white paint. Neat helmet.
WW2 Black Wound Badge. A non maker marked example with at least 95% of its factory finish intact. The rear has its period hardware.
WW2 Blackout Bulb and Cardboard Box. The bulb as seen in the pictures is in perfect condition, box has a couple of small tears, box has a War Economy detail printed to one of the closing flaps. Perfect Homefront item and a rare survior of the times. Was priced at 45

WW2 British NFS MKII Helmet. Just brought into me this week is this good condition Fire Service Mk11 helmet, id say that at least 85% of its original finish, inside and out. The front decal and unit number is complete with just minor knocks, the red has been refinished at the same time as the red line was painted around the circumference, this is period applied. The inside ,first pattern, liner and chinstrap is in good complete condition but i have not cleaned it . To the inside rim near the back just under the green finish is a name painted in red, i belive this is Morgan. Nice untouched example.
WW2 British Boxed Helio 5'',MK V. Nice complete set with the only damage being the top cross strap missing its front section . All components inside are in very nice condition, spares tin has all its spare mirrors. Cloth carry strap and rear fixing strap are in nice condition. Only date i can find is 43 stamped to the inside of the webbed spares pouch. International customers please be aware of the postage costs as this is a heavy item, around 4 kilos, if interested then i will be stalling at the Ciney show and can bring it over. WAS PRICED AT £175
WW2 British Father and Son Medal Grouping. Grouping of medals that have just turned up locally through a house clearance. One group belongs to a Captain R.B.Hardcastle who served in the Artillery from Africa and into Italy . His named box has a new Porthcawl address over the original Sussex one, pressume he moved to this area after returning from service. The medals have never been mounted still wrapped in there grease proof envelopes and consist of Italy, Africa and 39/45 stars with the war and peace medals. Found with the Africa star is a 1st Army bar, no entitelment paper found, extra ribbons inside the box. Also belonging to him is a uniform removed ribbon bar with 1st Army device , a Naval berthing card and his dog tags. The second group belongs to his father,Francis Sergeat Hardcastle. There is a named boxed Defence medal with paper slip, a named George V Special constable medal, name and numbered St John Ambulance Medal, boxed and a very nice enameled name and numbered Sussex St.Johns Ambulance War Service badge. Lastly and i presume beloning to the dad is a Guant made enameled Red Cross cap badge. So an interesting Family grouping that has never been on the market till now.
WW2 British Felt Slouch Hat. Burma. Well if one slouch looked as if it spent some time in the jungle it would be this one, great looking shape but as seen in the photos its had lots of use. The felt body is complete with a working Newey press popper, its lost its middle band and looks like a formation patch to the side has been removed, inside has lost its liner and has two period buttons stitched to the side for taking some sort of strap. Would make a perfect display for a POW or a soldier who has just come out of the jungle after extensive ops.
WW2 British Medal Group. Interesting group of three were the soldier was awarded the 39-45,France/Germany and the War medal. Period mounted with all medals showing exact wear.
WW2 British Naval Ratings Blue Cap. A nice example thats in used condition, original HMS title tally with the side knot in its original configuration. Its named to the inside liner. This one did see lots of service wear as can be seen with the hair oil residue on the caps edge.
WW2 British Officers Khaki Service Visor Cap. Cap appears to have had little service life and is in very nice condition, its slightly miss shapened when not on a ''head'' from storage. No staining ,moth nips or tracking, leather strap is sound. The side buttons are brown painted metal types and the front has a very nice economy plastic Gerneral Service badge to the front. Inside again in very nice condition, no size but would say mediumish!!
WW2 British RA Officers Visor Cap. This one has had some action as seen by the mud and grime found all about the cap, ive not tried to clean any part of it as i wanted to show you the combat wear. The buttons are KC bronze versions, the front cap badge has gone but the shadow can clearly be seen, leather chinstrap is supple but again dirty. There are numerous moth nips to the areas that have been covered as the under seams and behind the chinstrap. The inside has seen plenty of use with what appears to be mud staining to the top protective cover, leather sweatband is complete and quite supple with the front section adrift from the caps body. The protective cover has a split to the centre were the inside makers mark can be seen and the ''money shot'' being , by appointment to his majesty the King. Even with the moth nips this would make a great display item and one that you can be sure didnt sit out the war.
WW2 British Royal Fusiliers Officers Visor Cap. In very nice condition,no moth nips or tracking, couple of small stains to the top, material nap is good. The leather chinstrap is complete and supple.Four vent grommets to the rear. Both the front badge and buttons are the bronze officers type. The inside has had usage but minimal, one small area of the stitching loose around the peak area. Inside lining has the usual discolouration as found with Brit liners, the makers mark can just be made out as can the ''by appointment to the King''. A very nice clean example. Oh! no size but i reckon around a good medium if that helps.
WW2 Button Ribbon Bar, KVK/EK2. In very nice condition.
WW2 Button Ribbon Bar, KVK/OST. In very nice condition.
WW2 Geman Period Boxed Kurvenmesser Its nice to find an original period German example with out the export title ''made in Germany'' to the body. WW2 German ''Y'' Straps.1944 Dated. In very good supple condition with the exception of one front leather strap having been cut away for some reason, thats the thin strap behind the main belt hanging straps so for a display then it would be perfect. Added bonus is the code and 1944 date stamp to one leather strap.

WW2 German John Bull Anti British Propaganda Shooting Target. A large German patriotic shooting target with a straking Anti British propaganda themed image to the centre. The figure appars to be John Bull in the British Channel surrounded by the oncoming German military forces, air and sea. The condition is good, no folds just minor staining , the top just inside the border has a bullet strike, not the best shot but luckily for us its save the central image. Measures 17 inches across.
WW2 German Luftschutz Gladiator Helmet. In good condition with nearly all its original finish to the outside and inside, there is the begining of rust spotting coming thru. The inside liner is in very nice supple condition as is the chinstrap. The decal has been denazified by having the swastika removed. This would be a perfect item for restoration as the photo 7 shows with the second example i purchased from the same source, i added the swastika part of a repro decal to the front which makes the lid displayable, easy job to do.
WW2 German Medical Lot. Small group of items that belonged to a practising nurse during WW2. Included are three field dressings, Political first aid manual thats in good condition and complete, and a very nice glass wicked burner/light. The burner i have not tried to open as it might need to be immersed in warm water to loosen the glass stoppers. These items were part of a recent house clearance in Germany.
WW2 German Mosquito Head Net. In mint and unissued condition.
WW2 German Parachute Bag, FL 30220. Condition is used, complete and good, some marks and a bit dusty from years of storage. WW2 Gordon Highlanders Glengerry. Nice used example with just one small moth nip to the material of the body, this one has the remains of the makers details and crowfoot stamped to the inside lining. Cap badge is very nice with sharp detail.

WW2 RAF Souvenir Throw/Scarf. Large embroidered scarf or throw thats in nice condition with just a couple of small holes and sun marks to the silk type material. Type of item given to mum, girlfriend or perhaps WAAF member.
WW2 Royal Highland Black Watch Glenngary. The condition is very good with very nice nap to the body material and the red roudel to the top. The large silk edging and tail are again in very nice condition. The Kings crown Badge appears to have allways been attatched to this cap, good crisp detail with no knocks. Inside lining has had little use, no makers mark but still retains its paper size label, 7. These caps are hard to date, but i do like the large silk type edging and lining, i stated WW2 but might well be a bit eralier.
WW2 Royal Navy Officers White Topped Visor Cap. In used condition but still looking rather nice is this white topped officers cap. The body is in sound condition with the white top showing some storage marking, has the rear fixing button. Front bullion cap badge has seen some service, the cloth cap band has some slight damage near the badge, peak is sound with only some slight paint drops. The inside has a nice cream silk type linning, marked to the firm Harveys of London, well known for outfitting naval officers, leather seat band is supple.
WW2 Royal Navy Officers White Topped Visor Cap. In really nice untouched condition with a very nice metal economy badge to the front. The white top has not been removed and is fastened at the back with a single button. Inside liner is clean and named, clear makers label, only damage is some loose stitching to the front leather sweat band, 3 inches, were its held to the body.asy to remedy.
WW2 Royal Welch Fusiliers GS Beret. In very good ''used'' condition with no holes or moth damage to the exterior, the Bi metal RWF cap badge is in perfect condition, behind the badge the material has taken on the shape of the badge, a nice indication that the two have been together for some time. The inside has no markings but the construction is WW2 period, condition is again good but you can tell its seen service life.No size markings but would say its small going on medium. Recently came to light in the Cardiff area.
