Named 3rd Pattern Commando Dagger.

Purchased this example from a member of the family last week as the owner has recently passed away here in the South Wales area. The dagger is in nice condition with a certain amount of verdigris/patina from being stored in the attic for a number of years, the blade has not been sharpened. No cast number to be found on the pommel. The scabbard is complete with both pairs of wings, the top elastic has stretched somewhat. Along the front of the scabbard the owner has penned in ink using a fountain pen his details. It would appear to read...COOK TAYLOR MX 752654 NAVAL COMMANDO'S, the firts name might be GOOK with a dot above the O and there might well be a 1 just in front of the 4. Anyway its allways nice to find a period fighting knife that can be attributed.
