French 1866 Pat Chassepot Bayonet, Matching Numbers, St Etienne.

A 1874 dated third republic manufactured 1866 bayonet that's in good condition, the blade is stained and has numerous slight knocks to the blade edge, top tag with markings to both sides. The brass hilt has a working fixing spring, the cross guard has a matched number to the scabbard being G77925 and the quillion has numerous stamps. The metal scabbard has a good amount of its factory finish intact with some rust showing through, as mentioned the stamped number to one side matches the bayonet. As for other markings i can see a number to the opposite side of the scabbard a three numbered code and ive just noticed that the side of the cross guard above the tang is a number with the letter ''V''. An untouched example.
