Soldbuch, Infantry Regiment 57, EK2/Black and Silver Wound Badges.

In nice complete condition belonging to a member of 3.Kp.Inf.Ers.Btl.217 part of the 57th Infantry Regiment who took part in Barbarossa with Army Group South. He was wounded in 1943 by gunshot, then being kept in Reserve. The photograph was taken in Hospital wearing a trench coat and it would be no suprise this was worn over his hospital pajamas. His medal entitlement includes the iron cross second class and black wound badge, both awarded the same month in 1943 and a silver wound badge in May 1945, i presume his wounds got worse and his entitlement upgraded.
