Vintage Fighting Knife, Dirk, The Army Gerneral Stores Ltd, Nottingham

In very nice condition with the blade having staining and just the slightest of surface water markings and minor pitting near the tip, this if wanting could in my opinion be polished out. The blade has not been sharpened and the tang has clear markings for ''The Army General Stores, Nottingham. The handle is the type made to imitate a stag horn example, its either composite or bone, one small chip to the bottom near the cross guard but ive only just noticed it after years as it fits in nicely with the overall pattern, grips are held by three pins. Cross guard has a nickle appearance. Overall length is 10 inches. I myself would date this as an Edwardian example and its a first for me finding a dirk with such markings. Just the type to be sold in such stores to the Gentleman traveler of the time or British officer needing personal protection during his service. No scabbard sorry to say.
