Wehrpass, Heer, 1/Pionier- Battalion 158 , KIA Leningrad ,Russian Front.

The book is in very nice complete condition, he joined in Luneburg in 1939 serving with Pioneer-Ersatz Battalion 20 then battalion 158 who where sent to the Russian Front. In July 41 he was KIA serving with his unit in a town called Iwanowka on the outskirts of Leningrad, written in his book as Petersburg. He was buried in the local school garden of Iwanowka and there is a nice photo of his grave with the battle damaged school in the background accompanied by a letter sending the Wehrpass to his father on his sons death. Also found inside the book is a large post card sized portrait of the soldier.
