Japanese Occupation 1945/47 Document Group. RAF Provost.
A group of documents that belonged to Cpl Midgley who's service ended up with the British occupation Forces in Yango, Japan. There are numerous travel passes and documents, couple of menus including the farewell dinner before his flight home. Instructions on arresting and questioning Japanese citizens, large photo of what must be his RAF section and a group of calling cards he was given during questioning. There are also two letters sent to him by a couple of Japanese, one saying thank you for teaching him English the other thanking him for the opportunity of working in his section. The rest are booklets on Japan such as history and phrase books and some Japanese currency. Lastly we have the Japanese Occupation formation patch.
I have had certain groupings to members of the British occupation troops in Germany but its the first for me having items from the Japanese occupation.
