WW2 German M42 Steel Helmet Shell.

The shell has no pitting, cracks or dents, its a very solid shell. It has received a coat of postwar paint to the inside and out, the period factory finish can be seen to certain areas. The liner pins are not period WW2 examples.
I believe this example was used postwar, perhaps Police with an added coat of paint, different liner pins and of course a liner system that's now gone. The shell is stamped to the side NS62 and the rear lot number is 1697.
