WW1 German S-98/05 ''Butcher'' Bayonet. Maker and Distributor Marked.

The blade has a certain amount of staining with both side of the ricasso being marked, one side has the makers details...GEBR.HARTKOFF the other being marked with the distributors... C.DIETRICH, ALTENBURG. The spine has and acceptance mark but no date. The cross guard and pommel have a certain amount of its period finish but has taken on a dark patina, top of the pommel also has a clear acceptance stamp. The wood grips are in fine condition with no chips or cracks and taken on a nice dark finish. The steel scabbard has most of its period finish with a couple of minor ''dinks'' and again an overall dark finish from patina, top of the throat has a clear acceptance stamp. May i add that the oil hole has been purposely filled with a slither of wood.
