WW2 Art Work, American Paratrooper Combat Jump.

This is a large preparatory sketch for a much larger work done during the Second World War. The pencil sketch has been made on thick board and measures approximately 15x22 inches. The condition is very good considering its age with the corners having some knocks and minor storage marks. The bottom right corner does have some penciled details but its hard to make out , bottom has been cut with the lose of some wording. The central and most important image is clean with some nice detail and is IMO done in a good artistic hand. This work was a ''walk in'' into my local antique center from a local house clearance, with this was also found a modern print of what i believe is the finished work, now residing with family members in Australia. This copy of the work will stay with the pencil sketch when sold. Also found was another more finished ink work of the Liberator bomber seen at the top of the penciled sketch and one other finished work showing British MP's during the Invasion of Europe, sorry but that one is now on my wall! The name of the artist is Richard Cornick, sorry to say i cannot find a name on the sketch , but the the other work is and one other large 1930's watercolour of the inside of a church, this i will add with the pencil sketch. So what your purchasing is the very nice large perliminary para sketch, copy of the original art work and the church water colour.
