Vintage MKII Gurkha Kukri.

A very nice example with the blade having some staining and just a couple of very small areas of surface pitting, nothing too deep. The blade has deep stamped details to one side...Tempered steel, made in India. The handle is made of buffalo horn and the but plate is steel. The leather scabbard is complete with tight stitching and a nice hanging frog. There is some debate on the ''Tempered steel'' markings being produced after 1947, then again ive seen it said they where produced before hand. All i can say is the weapon is nicely balanced, it has a steel butt end to the handle and the only brass used are the washers in the handle to hold the rivets in place.
Its a lovely vintage item and displays very well, and may i add it has lots of that super patina i'm a fan of!!
