Here we have a small paperwork grouping to Gnr John Kerr who was part of the 356th, IND, Battery of the RA. The pay book is well used and appears to be complete with Kerr's details and course passes. The Release book is in parts and signed off by an officer from Germany in 1946. There are a number of other pieces of paper related to his service, family photo and a large group photo with three lads in BD's. There is one written letter in Dutch and signed off by the name ''Jock'' who i believe is Kerr and written when he was part of the occupation forces in German where the 356 ended the war. The ''HD'' Christmas greetings from the Rhine card would also match part of the 356th unit history going by some searching on the internet. Lastly we have Kerr's Efficiency medal and paper award document dated 1948 with a ''Lodge of St Andrews'' medal .
It would appear the 356th landed in Normandy late 6th June , was then part of what was called ''Monty's Moonlight'' Batteries providing artificial moonlight for tank concentrations in forward ares. The unit went through Northern Europe ending up in Germany during the occupation. Not a bad little group with some good research potential.
