British 1876 Pattern '' Bayonet Common Long'' Socket with Period Leather Frog.
Produced by the firm Enfield and dated 1885 this example is in exceptional condition, i would like to say it would be very hard to upgrade. The triangular blade has clear details stamped to the top with the only staining i can find under the blade along the bottom spine where the blade would lie along the bottom chape of the blade, you will not see it in the pictures. The top fixing sleeve, arm and ring has nearly all its factory blueing with not evidence of the nut ever being touched, two very small ''kissing'' broad arrows stamped to the top. May i add there are no Foreign stamps or ''FTR'' repair stamps. The leathers scabbard is the two brass mounting example thats in supple condition with tight stitching. The scabbard is held in a period white buffed leather frog made for British socket bayonets, its in supple condition with a good amount of white paint remaining and some regimental numbers stamped to the back. Not much else i can say other than its a super example!
NOT FOR SALE TO UNDER 18's AND UK ONLY!
