Victorian Paperwork Grouping, B.Q.M.S. Ayre, 71st Battery RFA.
A nice group of paperwork to a B.Q.M.S, Ayre who attested on 1888 for the RH/RFA at the age of 18. We have his Parchment dated 1913, he served 25 years and was awarded the Indian medal with bar and a Good conduct medal. We also have his leather bound service, pay, book that's complete with all details including three military certificates, Gunnery etc, and payment details, condition is very good considering its age. The last documents are three regarding his service during WW1. Transfer document stating he joined again in 1914 and transferred to the Reserves in 1919, he was awarded the 1915 trio for his service. With this comes his Army form Z11 with some details dated 1919 and a goodbye cert from the Woolwich Commander thanking him for his service during WW1. Lastly we have two photos, one of Ayre wearing his full uniform and medals surrounded by his family. The large photo is Ayre early on in his service.
A good example of documents to a long serving soldier who even after 25 years service joined again for service during WW1.
