British ''Grey'' MKII Steel Helmet.
Helmet retains close to 99% of its factory grey finish, inside and out with the 1940 dated shell having three drilled holes either side near the chinstrap rivets denoting use by a Civil Defence organisation. The inside liner is the early type and dated 1939 ,without the removal of the tongues would have been rated at having little use. As seen in the pictures for some reason the tongues where intentionally removed leaving the front area cloth for resting on the forehead whilst wearing. The chinstrap is in very nice condition and is the helmets period example.
