Vintage Cardiff City Fire Brigade Leather ''Hendry'' Helmet.
A very nice example of an 1920's/30's fire fighters helmet made by the firm of Hendry of Glasgow. The very thick and heavy leather body has retained a very nice shape with one knock to the side, must have been one heck of a knock as im certain even standing on the helmet would not change its shape! The brass fittings around the edge is complete and tight with all rivets. Both side rosettes are very nice as is the protective trim running around the front from side to side. To the front can be found a hand rendered Cardiff coat of arms with the letter ''C'' above. The inside liner system is complete with the back tongues missing there tips, the front and back stitching holding the liner to the body has come adrift, side rosettes are holding the liner solidly in place. The leather chinstrap is complete with fixing snaps.
