French Second Empire Firefighters Brass Helmet.

Napoleon III, Model 1855, brass helmet with front plate stating Sapeurs Pompiers De Courteranges, a small town in North East France. The helmet condition i would rate at very good considering its age with the top brass combe having some knocks but no splits and all large screws present. The body itself has no large knocks and is straight enough with the lobster tail having all screws, front visor is solid with just a couple of slight knocks. The brass chinstrap with imitation scales has its inner leather strap complete with buckle. The inside has a complete and supple liner with much evidence of helmet having seen many a polish over its life.
