French M1885 Firefighters Helmet. Somme Village.
A well used example Paris maker marked helmet with some minor knocks to the metal body and front visor. The comb moves slightly to the back due to a loose screw thread but is solid to the front. The complete frontal plate reads ''Sapeurs Pompiers Dargnies'' as issued to a fire department in a small village in the Somme area. The inside liner is complete but has a certain amount of damage to the back from use. Full chinstrap is supple.
The red and white hackle is in used condition and i doubt if period but this is ''as found'' and will come with the helmet.
