WW1 British Steel Helmet, Brodie, John Roland maker.

The steel shell has one small knock to the side and close to 90% of its period factory rough finish to the outside, inside finish it better! Shell has a stamp to both ends, R10, the other R/0283, shell edge has an overlapping seam as found on British produced helmets. Both chinstrap ''bales'' are the split pin type. The liner system is complete with the black oilskin in supple condition and a clear Home Office red stamp underneath. The crown felt has minimal moth nips, lets say 4 or 5 and the remains of the paper label can be found under the washer. Underneath net is again in complete condition. The chinstrap appears to be complete but has broken to the center , id say its fragile but supple enough. Not a bad example if you ask me and well displayable!
