WW1 German Transitional M18 Steel Helmet.

This is a transitional helmet with the WW1 shell being used during the 30's with the addition of a M31 liner and liner pins.. At some point during the years the helmet was spray painted black over a couple of other layers of finish, this can be seen under the final balck finish. The inside skirt also was also sprayed using a cardboard template to cover the inside liner system, period finish cas be found to the dome. The side is stamped Si66. The M31 liner has all its tongues with one end coming adrift and one split, its solid enough but dont go trying it on!! Period liner string attached and all liner pins are tight with washers.
