M40 Single Decal Army Helmet. EF64.
A good example of the basic single decal Army helmet made by the firm EF. The rough factory finish has seen a good amount of use with close to 90% remaining with the rest turning that dark, close to the paint, finish from age and patina. The liner pins are the period examples and have never been tampered with, pins are tight and all three have there washers. There is a faint EF64 stamp to the side with the rear having a clear Lot number..22443 just by the side of the painted number 56. The Heer decal i would say is close to 60% present with the top being worn down from use. The liner is in very nice supple condition with the edge turning dark brown from use, faint name can be seen seen to one side under the chinstrap bale.Liner string is period to the helmet The chinstrap is complete and supple with an early aluminium buckle, this strap in my opinion is the period example and always been with this helmet. Out of interest the back edge of the helmet has received a slight spray of green, perhaps the helmet was just a tad to close to some equipment being sprayed. A nice untouched lid folks!
p.s. I've just noticed using a torch that there is a second name in pencil running along the rear of the helmet just under the liner.
