RAF Folding Survival Machete. 1944, A.Butler.

This one was a ''walk in'' yesterday as i was stalling out, gent found it in his garage. As expected from a garage find the metal fittings have taken on a dark patina and staining. The blade is in good condition with a certain amount of period finish to be seen under the light surface bleed, edge has some minor knocks but still a good edge. One side is stamped for the Butler firm, the other is broad arrow stamped over the date 1944. The handle is complete with no chips or cracks. The blade does fold in and out but noticed that the release spring when wanting to close is a bit bent near the tip so wont close freely, i had to use a knife to full bend the spring tip to fully close, nothing major , will need some attention if your going to use it other than display purposes.
May i add with a little work this will come up very nicely.
