1942 Dated and Named RAF Officers Jacket.

Made from Barathea wool this named tunic has been stripped at some point of all insignia including the arm rank stripes. There is evidence of a ribbon bar and wings above the right pocket. All buttons have been changed and are now Queens crown examples and the period belt has a postwar type buckle added. At one point someone has repaired the side seam under the arm. So what we have is a period WW2 tunic with a named and 1942 dated inside label thats in need of a certain amount of ''TLC'' to bring this back for display. The name to the inside is G.S.Rollings, i have found one mention of a certain Flying Officer Rollings , service number 137953 of the RAFVR ''mentioned in dispatches'' in 1946 during the New Years Honour List! As for size i can give you approx only by using a tape measure when the jacket is lying flat!
Armpit to armpit.....18.5 inches.
along the waist belt.....18 inches.
Top of collar to the bottom back....28 inches.
I may add i cannot find any moth nips or tracking and the jacket will need an ''airing'' and an iron running over it as its been in a box for a few years!
