British Boer War Period Medical Chest.

In used condition with the Khaki waterproof material having some heavy staining to one side at the top, perhaps from being carried. One side has come adrift at the top frame. The heavy webbed strap is held in place with three metal plates one being marked to SGT J.Norris, M.S.C. To the front of the chest the red cross has gone but you can see where it was due to the material discoloration. Inside can be seen the wooden frame, three small pockets to one side and a larger pocket to the inside flap. Sorry to say the two retaining buckles have long gone. Still a nice and scarce bit of Victorian military kit.
