British Officers Brigadier/ Substantive Colonel Visor Cap. India.
Produced in India, inner label states ..F.H.PITMAN, LAHORE with a well used ribbed cloth body, three moth nips to the crown, one under the band and a good munch to the inner peak. Material has slight staining and being a good amount of sun fade. The one remaining side button for the chinstrap is a black horn rifle brigade example. The red band is clear of moth as is the bullion front badge. Under the band can be seen clear evidence that band has always been on the cap due to the stronger color found to the material. The inside is complete with a well used leather sweatband, adrift from the body by one inch only to the side with the button. The crown area agin well used and fade , has a clear tailors label for a firm in India and the owners name. As for date? Im going to say WW2 but might well be earlier going by shape and construction.
