Father and Son Artillery Grouping with Death Plaque.

This is a small grouping of items that where found during a recent house clearance in the London area. The framed death plaque is named to a Leonard Arthur Rayner who as a member of the 2nd Bat Honourable Artillery Company killed in Belgium in 1917 aged 30. The frame has never been touched, plaque always mounted inside, id say its the cleanest ''death penny'' i have seen. The rest of the paperwork relates to his son who obviously followed his fathers path and joined the RA during WW2. From the photos it would appear he joined the ranks then received an officers commission and fought with the 8th Army. Id say he went through North Africa as there is a 1943 dated Gezira sporting club Race brochure amongst the items and of course some items relating to Italy. The large framed photo of the son does show him wearing a ''Mentioned in dispatches'' oak leaf so action during his time is likely but im sorry to say i cannot find the sons name amongst the group. A little research should be able to find the sons wartime details. As mentioned this is new to the market, my local house clearance guy sometime does a clearance in London when they have clients from South Wales.
