Victorian Bowie Knife.

The dagger measures from tip to the top of the pommel 16 inches with the blade being stained from age but very little pitting, some knocks to the top edge and the cutting edge having received a light sharpening. The blade and tang are one piece with the wooden handle having five rivets to secure, middle one having a brass washer, no chips to the wood just some stains. The brass pommel is slightly loose , you can see where the securing rivet has had a couple of knocks to tighten at some point in its life. The leather scabbard is not the period example but fits in design well enough to the overall appearance. This example is not one of the fancy coffin daggers with clip point blade but a utilitarian type as seen exported in quantity to places like the USA in the middle 1800's, and the type seen used by the South during the Civil War and of course by Frontiers men. A nice plain Bowie that displays very well and is in good shape.

NOT FOR SALE TO UNDER 18'S AND UK ONLY!
