Vintage Brass Barrel Flintlock Coaching Pistol.

A very nice example that dates from around 1790/1810. The brass barrel has two deeply struck London proof marks with the side lock named to a maker ''Thomas''. The lock does have a two pull hammer, and it does fire, but the spring is very weak and i would not suggest a lot of use as it will need a bit of TLC to bring it back with a new spring. The other brass furniture is in very nice clean condition. The woodwork has had plenty of use and has turned a very dark brown from plenty of handling, small area is missing from side near the front of the barrel. Comes with its period ramrod. This example has seen lots of use being fired on many an occasion as seen by the the color of the wood under the front of the barrel, plenty of scratch marks to the back of the barrel from the flint when used and the bottom of the ramrod show lots of scorch marks. Measures around 16 inches in length.
