WW2 Royal Navy Captains Blue Cap and White Top.

A very nice WW2 period RN Captains cap in untouched and nice condition. I am not going to take the cotton white top off as id say its been there untouched for many years. The top has a certain amount of stains , foxing etc but nothing to much. The peak has no moth damage to the cloth and the bullion has slight tarnish from age. The leather strap is complete and in supple condition. side cloth covered buttons are sound. The bullion RN cap badge has a certain amount of patina, the top crown has lost a certain amount of its red felt. Cap band has no moth damage. The inside is clean but im sorry to say the leather sweatband has come adrift. Top blue padding is in used condition with the makers details having worn back making the outfitters hard to make out, what i can see is a ''kings crown'' above the design and the words ''at the head'', below looks like the word ''imperial''. Its nice to see an untouched WW2 example that with a little ''TLC'' would make a perfect display item. This is a recent house clearance find from the Cardiff area.
