PRICE REDUCED! Imperial German Hirschfanger Hunting Dagger.
An impressive hunting dagger with the unmarked 10 inch blade having minimal staining, nice point and usual period sharpening to the cutting edge. This massive blade is close to 10mm thick at the pommel end and still has its period red felt buffer. The steel cross guard, clam shell and pommel has a some of its period green factory finish mixed in with a very nice dark patina taken on by the steel from age. Antler handle is free of damage, just some minor surface knocks from use. The scabbard has a very nice leather body with tight stitching, both the bottom and top steel fittings again with some of its factory green mixed in with plenty of dark patina, the back has some slight surface rust bleed i presume from sitting for a number of years. I'm sorry to say the skinning knife has gone! This is a very nice example of the type of hunting dagger taken into the forest to dispatch a wounded wild boar or deer, not one for show as many are!
