WW1/WW2 Family Medal Group. Bridgend, South Wales.
This nice grouping i purchased from the grand daughters of W.Bawden this week. The WW1 trio with boxed defence medal and Police S.C. medal belonged to the mothers side of the family and are named to driver O.C.Jeines, RFA who was from the Bridgend area. The WW2 medals with prewar Palestine belonged to there Grandfather who served in Africa during WW2 with the West Yorkshire Regiment. He was one of six brothers serving in the forces during WW2 and is from the Maidenhead area. The remaining single WW1 peace medal is named and numbered to W.Bawden, Devon Regiment. i presume his father. Bawdens mother was French coming home to the UK with his father in 1919. The WW2 photos are mainly of Bawden during his service with a few WW1 photos of various members of both families, some named, mostly not! Nice little group and worthy of further research.
