WW2 German M35 Reissued Combat Helmet.
The ET 64 marked shell has had at least three coats of different applications of paint. The last application is dark green, seen better to the inside photos where the soldiers post number is applied on top. This dark green appears to have been brushed on mainly around the outside peak and along the middle of the shell with some brush strokes going up towards the crown, lots of wear to this and the other older paint finishes. All three liner pins have this dark green finish. The National decal was removed at some point, 1940 regulations, with the Heer decal painted over. At some point i would suggest some one has taken a peak under the paint looking for the decal! The zinc banded liner is the period example used during its reissue with dark supple leather and its period liner string. All liner pins are tight. This comes with its period chinstrap thats missing its tip. This example when found had the dated bread bag strap in place and i have decided to sell as is. This example is an very nice ''entry level'' lid that might well be called a camo with the darker green brush application. Without the collector ''peekin'' for the Heer decal this example this IMHO would cost a lot more folks!
As an added note, the wear to the bottom edge and other places would suggest this helmet did have a bread bag strap fitted by the original owner at some point.
