1913 Pattern Bayonet, 1916 Dated, with 1914 Pattern Leather Frog.
Here we have a very nice untouched example still held in its period 14 pattern frog. The blade has close to all its period factory finish and its factory edge. Both sides are clearly marked with stamped details including an issue date of 1916. The cross guard and pommel again with most of the period factory finish with some slight rust bleed. Both wooden grips are in fine untouched condition, one slab has a rifle rack number stamp, A92. The leather scabbard is its period issued example with teardrop top stud and the bottom chape stamped ''RE'' for the Remington firm. There has been one knock causing a crease to the leather, one 3mm hole to the side only, crease has not gone through or split and does not flop over when bayonet is taken out, just a period accident usually caused from trapping in a door. The scabbard is held in its period 14 pattern frog complete with back strap. Its in nice supple condition with lots of use looking at the wear to the top hanging area, no repairs or loose stitching. The complete middle fixing strap and buckle i have not touched and will leave as is. Nice to find an untouched example as issued and used by British forces during WW1 and not the usual 13 pattern with US reissue stamps.
