Massive Anglo Indian Bowie Knife.
The nearly 10 inch blade has minimal staining and light sharpening to the cutting edge. Brass hilt , cross guard with slight movement and the top pommel being slightly loose from age and storage. The horn handle is in perfect condition with a diameter of around nearly 5 inches. The patterned leather scabbard has tight stitching along its seam with the bottom area attached to the brass chape having worn , perhaps bent over time, its weak with some holes but not come adrift. Brass scabbard top has the usual type fixing found on these Victorian type hunting knives produced for British hunters and folks on an expedition. No makers stamps to be found. Total length from bottom of the scabbard to the top pommel is 16.5 inches.
