Rare 1940 Dated RAF Wool Mountain Recue Winter Cap/Comforter.

A very rare example of an RAF issued wool comforter come cap as used by mountain rescue units. With such an early date i presume used by other members of the RAF in cold climates and high altitude. The condition is perfect with nice nap to the wool material, no moth holes or nips and a very nice clear 1940 dated air ministry label to the inside. I purchased this from an ex RAF officer Parachute instructor who said he picked it up in stores during time spent in East Asia. Not sure your going to find another example soon, such caps can be seen being used by RAF mountain rescue when searching the internet.
