USAAF B-3 Shearling Leather Flight Jacket.

A nice well used period, 1942, B-3 leather jacket manufactured by the firm Werber Sportswear. The surface to the sherling leather has had lots of use with the usual crazing and surface peel found on period examples. I can find four small holes, lets say you will not get the tip of your little finger into them so not that noticeable! There are three small sewn repairs, again small size and some look period including one patch to the back. At some point someone has sewn a seam under one armpit in quite a crude way including another small patch. The rest of the seams are in sound condition. The front period ''Talon'' zip will need replacing, its complete but has rusted with a few teeth missing. All other leather straps are complete with buckles. The inside sheep skin is in sound and moth free condition with a clear maker and designation label to the neck area, size is 42R. The front of the jacket has had a square name patch machine sewn through the leather, not a repair. Penned to this patch are the details.... FLT Leader , R Johnson, DFC and Bar. So its a nice period jacket that will display very well with any USAAF collection or if wishing then a with a little TLC you could be wearing it down the high street!!
