Scarce Lithgow, 1919 Dated, Matching Numbers 1907 Bayonet.

The bayonet has over 90% of its period dark finish to the blade, some loss to the tip area and minor knocks to the factory edge, doubt seen in my photos. The top of the blade has a faint Lithgow manufacture mark with the Lithgow shield with 07 stamp above, below is a clear 1919 date. The other side has clear Lithgow type stamps. The metal hilt, cross guard and pommel again close to 100% finish but with a certain amount of surface rust bleed, easy clean in my opinion. The two wooden slab grips are very clean. Please note both handle screws are untouched but the back ends have a certain amount of rust. Pommel has a scratched out rifle number with the cross guard also having a scratched out Military District number 3, Victory area, and scratched out numbers. The leather scabbard is the period factory issue example stamped Lithgow and dated 1919. Leather is supple and both metal end fittings have 100% of there factory finish. Now for the rather rare bit.... The scabbard throat has matching Military District 3 and numbers matching to the cross guard of the bayonet, so a matching set that has never been apart. As an extra note whilst taking and extra picture of the scabbard stamps, the date looks like 1918 but it might well be 19 by my eyes! Im sure it would take you some time to find another matching numbered set folks!
