Matching Numbers K98 Bayonet. Elite Diamant. 1940.

The blade has close to all its period factory finish intact with a minor sharpening to the cutting edge, hardly noticeable in the photos. One side is stamped to the firm Elite Diamant with the other having a clear number stamp 5171, both these correspond to matching stamps on the scabbard including the date 40 found on the spine of the blade. Both grips are in nice condition with slight rubbing as seen also on the cross guard. Pommel has clear waffen ampt stamps seen under the slight surface bleed, i have not tried to clean this area up, top fixing button works fine. The steel scabbard has a good amount of period finish mixed with some scuffs and wear and just the slightest of fiel markings to one side near the bottom button, this button has a clear Waffen Ampt stamp.
