WW1 Passchendaele Boxed KIA Medal Pair. Machine Gun Company. 1917.

A recent family purchase is this boxed pair of medals named to Pte Louis Manyard, 73157, MGC who is listed as KIA on the 1st of August 1917 and is commemorated at the Ypres Menin Gate Memorial. The outer named postal sleeve has been ripped open as expected reviling the cardboard box with Maynard's details when he was a soldier in the Royal Sussex Regiment, obviously transferred to the MGC at some point. Both medal details are...17878 Pte L.Maynard. R.Suss.R. The enclosed Record Office certificate, dated 1922, is issued by the Machine Gun and Tank Corps, Gloucester Gate,NW1 and is signed by a Lieut Colonel MGC.
