WW1 British Trench Candle Holder.

A very nice brass holder for one candle for use by British forces in the trenches. I would say this example is in very nice condition with clear makers stamp to the side, inside is a used candle and inner spring. The two top hooks move to the back so a soldier, or officer, could hang this on any piece of wood lining the trench. The folding top has a silvered finish to reflect the light and all folds down neatly for easy storage in a side or back pack etc. Type of item sent by family members to serving soldiers in France to try and make life a bit more comfortable for the boys.
