Battle Damage M16 Transitional Ex Double Decal Camouflage Helmet. NO PAYPAL PAYMENT !

A well used example with the shell having at least four coats of paint finish, its first coat, light green brushed application then lastly a darker green with tan producing a camouflage scheme. At some point the helmet appears to have been a double decal, some remnants remain of the National colors decal under the paint. It would appear the decals fell off due to poor adherence, in my opinion the area has not been liberated by a previous collector but please make up your own mind! The shell has received a hit causing a 2 inch fracture to the side. The inside has a well used , damaged and fragile liner of 1940 spec, blood damage is evident to certain areas and all pins have there washers but have been re-bent at some point, two are its period examples with one perhaps a replacement but not 100% sure. Not only a scarce example of a reissued WW1 helmet used during WW2 but one that has been finished with a camo finish.
