1915 Dated Presentation Compass. G.L.Wallis, B Squadron, Berkishire Yeomanry. Gallipoli.

A Stanley of London pocket compass with a nice 1915 dated inscription to the inner lid made out to....G.L.Wallis, B Squadron, Berkshire Yeomanry. The compass is in very nice condition still having its period hanging chain and leather button tab. The inner dial works fine, compass section is loose and when removing the watch case manufacturer can be found, Dennison, Glasgow. We are lucky that with a quick search a photo of Wallis, please check photo number 10, can be found and some of his service details. Wallis served with the Berkshire Yeomanry in Egypt then commissioned into the Hereford Regiment serving at Gallipoli then Egypt and Palestine. He survived the war.
