St. Petersburg Imperial Yacht Club Flag. 31x48 Inch.

This rare multi stitched flag has hand sewn paneling with its header being machine stitched. The bunting type material is in rather good condition considering its age with a number of small moth type holes and fraying especially to the edges. No markings to be found. The only reference i can find showing this flag is dated 1908 not forgetting that the Imperial yacht club was disbanded after the Russian Revolution. I have had this flag for a number of years, it was found during a local house clearance in the Cardiff area with a British ''Red Duster'' merchant navy flag.
Im not sure how many of these survived the Revolution and presume it was smuggled out during that period.
