Vintage Rodger Sheath Knife. Toulon, 1947, South Wales Borderers.

The Rodgers, ''I cut my way'', stamped blade is in nice condition with staining. Both wooden grips are in fine condition. The period leather scabbard is in supple condition with top working strap, one side section has lost its stitching. What i find interesting is the owners details to the side. The owners name Brian Webster with the place place being Toulon and dated 1947. He has also marked his regiment SWB . This had me scratching my head until with a little research i found that Fort Lt Girardon in Toulon was used in 1947 for replacement troops on the way to Palestine. The South Wales Borderers 1st Battalion where deployed to Palestine at the time so not beyond the realms of possibility folks!
